To be able to relocate, you must obtain a visa or work permit. To get a Visa, you must first find a job in England and the employer must apply for your visa. Hence finding a job is a must before relocating to England. The UK Residency Permit and Visa system works on a point system. The work permit visas are of two types i.e. Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 visas are for those who have higher qualification and work experience. Tier 2 visa is a normal work visa. Tier 1 visa can be applied before having a job in UK and if the visa is granted, work and residence rights are obtained. Student visas can be obtained provided you have sufficient funds to cover the expenses of living.

Once you get a visa, finding an accommodation is a crucial task. The cost of living in England is quite high. Also the houses are smaller here. The rentals for accommodation are pricey and finding cheap accommodation needs sufficient research. Search in internet for best offers and cheaper accommodation. Until you find a home with affordable rent, you can choose some temporary accommodation. Choosing hotels or some serviced apartments can be cheaper. While choosing a residence, one of the major things you need to keep in mind is to find a home which is nearer to a public transportation place.

Once the relocation is planned, you need to arrange for shipment of goods. Check for the customs rules of England before planning the shipment. Some of the items are banned to be imported. If you are importing vehicles, make sure the model you own meets the safety standards of the country. You are liable to pay duty charges for shipping the goods. All the items must be listed in the customs form along with the total value of the assets. If you are taking pets along with you, they must complete six-month quarantine. This can now be done from home. The pets must also undergo blood tests and vaccinations to be allowed into the country.
