Things to Be Done Before Relocation

Documents Required on Arriving to Canada


On arriving to Canada, each member will be checked by the Canadian Customs Officer. Some of the documents you will be required to produce are:
  • Valid passport of each family member traveling with you.
  • Immigrant Visa and confirmation of permanent residence of each member traveling.
  • Two copies of detailed list of personal items being carried by you. The list must also state the value of the items being carried.
  • Two copies of list of items that are arriving later.
  • You must also carry sufficient funds which will be enough to cover living expenses for at least six months. You may be asked to show the proof of funds.

Canada has a program called Host Program for immigrants. Through this program, the immigrants are introduced to already resident citizens of Canada who help you out in knowing the basic things.
