The city of San Antonio, located in South Texas is the second largest City of the State of Texas. It is also the seventh largest City in the United States of America. Known as the geographical and cultural gateway into the American Southwest, San Antonio also has a strong military presence.

The inherent feature of the economy of San Antonio is its diversity. However, the major brunt of the economy rests on four primary areas including tourism, health care, financial services and the government. The City of San Antonio is home to the South Texas Medical Center, which is essentially a conglomerate of not only many major hospitals, but also clinics and higher, educational and research institutions. Tourism is also one of San Antonio’s major fortes. It attracts around twenty million tourists every year. The City is also home to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center that plays host to more than 300 events every year.
Transportation in San Antonio
The City of San Antonio is serviced by the San Antonio International Airport. Moreover, there is also an extensive bus and streetcar system known as VIA Metropolitan Transit. Rail services are offered by Amtrak and it operates trains like the Texas Eagle, and the Sunset Limited. The City does not have a local train network. The City of San Antonio is also serviced by various major freeways, including but not limited to, Interstate 10, Interstate 35, Interstate 37, Interstate 410, and US Highway 281.
